Scripture Quote from the Gospel of John 14:15-17, 25-27; 15, 16.

Jesus said to his disciples: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.  And I will ask the Father who will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.  This is the Spirit of truth ... whom you know because the Spirit abides with you and will be in you.  ... The Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you.  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.  Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid. ... As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love.  I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete."

Reflection

Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from our God, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind.                                                  -- Pope Francis
